2023 TIMESTEP interns
The TIMESTEP Summer Internship Program is a unique opportunity for small- to mid-sized businesses to connect with talented UArizona undergraduate juniors in the Physical Sciences—astronomy, physics, math, geosciences, hydrology, and atmospheric physics.
This competitive program provides employers with vetted students who have worked in research teams, possess computing skills, and are ready to work alongside industry development and engineering teams. The program particularly supports women, low-income students, first-generation college students, and students historically underrepresented in the physical sciences.
2024 interns successfully completed internships at: Airth, Ampcera, Arizona Optical Metrology, Clear Core, FreeFall Aerospace Inc, Fringe Metrology LLC, Kitship, Leonardo Electronics U.S. Inc., Lightsense Technology Inc., NeuroVascular Research and Design, NOIRLab, Madden Media, OppsSpot LLC, Paramium Technology, Securaplane Technologies Inc., Tucson Optical Research Corporation.

Typical Projects
- Data analysis and data collection
- Software and/or hardware development
- Mechanical design & optimization of instrumentation or robotics
Logistics
- Provide a part-time (20 hrs/wk) technical work experience for a U of A student intern
- Runs 13 weeks: May 19th-Aug 13th, 2025
- Local to Tucson or 100% remote internship if outside of Tucson, AZ
